For those of you who are waiting for Debian Lenny’s update release, I would like to tell you that it is coming soon. How soon? Tomorrow, yes that’s on 11th April 2009.

From Lenny onwards, Debian has decided to number the version in a 3-figure format. So for example:

Debian Lenny Release was called:  5.0.0

And now the upcoming point release will be called:  5.0.1

and so on…

Also, for those of you who are using Debian Etch/Oldstable, there will be update release (eighth one) for it too called as 4.0r8 on 10th April 2009 i.e. today. I have not verified this yet.
